Does it have to be connected via Ethernet I wonder, the file GWX in System32 and update is loaded just not showing going to try later.
Update, No that didn't show it either when connected via cable.

I'm still waiting for the invite on both this pc, connected, and laptop, wireless. both appear to have the necessary specs and updates, and I've set Windows update to auto now, just to see if that makes a difference. Nob, I've also got the file GWX in System 32, it's been there since 20 May. Are we just awaiting it being activated or something ? |

Alan you could try right clicking and run as administator, I've tried it on the lappy the box opens but it doesn't add the App. My PC hasn't got updates set to auto so I must have updated manually. Ain't a clue if it needs activating. I don't know if the lappy will run 10 without the App checking compatibility. The PC is good to go though but I don't want to chance 10 on that first. All I can do is wait and see what happens when 10 comes out.

The PC is good to go though but I don't want to chance 10 on that first. nob I never had you down as a chicken so I'm really worrying about what other of your characteristics I've got wrong Its not that Im scared Peter, its all the time it will take to restore if it goes tits up, the lappy will be easier Its a lot smaller HDD. |

Got the App now, uninstalled the update and reinstalled it then restarted windows and its there, checked the lappy its all good to go, reserved a copy.
I can only assume downloading it by itself did the trick.

Peter, I didn't have you down as the worrying kind either, so I'm wondering about my other perceptions of you too. Bj I didn't realise you had 1 perception never mind other perceptions as well. Have you been to the DR with them. Nowadays they can produce an individual anti-biotic that will cure a specific ailment and by now they must have produced one to cure perceptions so make another appointment with your doc and explain how your perceptions are taking control  |

I've heard nowt yet about W10, haven't got that KB3035583 update either, I check windows updates before I install them anyway. Not especially fussed about it, nowt's broke etc etc etc. |
