Had the Tory councillor phone asking if she can rely on my vote. It's just as well her name wasn't Maggie, 'cos had it been, the phone line might have melted.

To be fair to her she did block the social housing builds on the old lads land next door to me. She and the Tory MP worked well when me and the kid next door had problems with scrotes. They got one evicted for burgaling the area. She does a good job for the area, but she's a Tory.

Yep, there's a lot of difference between council and Westminster. Years ago we had liberal woman councillor, and she was outstanding.

Excellent results for UKIP,well done the people of Rotherham for voting 10 UKIP councillors in,clearly they have had enough of the scrounging migrants blighting their town. Just watched Clegg giving an interview,he says it was a mixed night for the LDs and when all they results are in the could win.... Clearly he is on some kind of substance, because way I see it is they are history..

Yep, I saw the Rotherham result, the good folks of Rotherham played a blinder. I watched some fella being interviewed who had written a book about about UKIP. He said that the most surprising thing he discovered, was how many working class people had switched their allegiance to UKIP, and were intending to stay there. This is something that I've been saying for ages, 'cos I've seen it both here and among my drinking mates. Once they get pissed off, they tend to stay pissed off!

The day just get better and better.... UKIP came 2nd in my ward behind Labour..but UKIP polled more votes than the Tories and LD's put together.Considering this is the East End of Sheffield and has a large Asian community that is a superb showing from UKIP.

Errr...think about it Smudger, it will come to you eventually! Ah bless eh! Get the picture now ratarse but up until the news at lunch I never knew the UKIP's colour is purple. How often do we see Farage in purple. I expected them to do well today but not as well as they did in the local council elections but as yet they have only won seats and not control. I suppose from their starting position it is still a great result. The best bit is the other 3 parties are going to have to rethink their policies and treat Farage as a competitor. Though I still think until after the 2015 G. Election we won't know their true strength of support.

Looking through all the Sheffield wards UKIP have run Labour pretty close in quite a few.Things are certainly on the up.
