Fixed So I rocked up at the local primary school to cast my vote, bejazus, not a single canvasser outside the polling room. In fact, apart the the three officials, I was the only one in the room. Anyway...with a flourish, I removed my wounded arm from the sling, I was making sure that nothing was gonna make me accidentally put my cross in the wrong place. My boys were at the very bottom of the list of candidates, no problemo spotting them. More candidates than I expected, the BNP was there plus that UKIP lookalike, and there was some 'just English' party or summat. Anyway, lots of losers above my boy, I didn't bother looking too closely. Here, we are just voting for the EU election, not council seats. Go gettum kippers.

The deed is done, the marks are made. Regarding our local elections though I think people are still living in past thinking Labour is for the working man....couldn't be further from the truth. That's long been the case Phil. Strangely enough though, not too long ago I was reminded of what labour was once like. I think (may be wrong) it was after the budget speech. I was doing summat at home, and had left the puter/tv on after the main speeches, there was just a few mps left in the commons and they were debating between themselves. Anyway, this mp gets to up to speak, and as it does, the tv showed his name, party and constituency. All I remember is that he was a labour mp, and he had a Glasgow constituency. He looked in his fifties. Oh Oh, I thought, another of those chippy marxist jockos! But, I couldn't have been more wrong, this fella was old school labour, the sort that my parents would have voted for. He was fair, reasonable, gave credit where it was due and put his case for what he thought was wrong. I didn't agree with much of what he said, but he showed not a touch of the nasty enviousness that pervades the modern labour party, and above all, he was obviously very patriotic. Labour could do with more like him. I'll have a google and see if I can find a name. Edit....Tom Harris is the fella.

I drove past polling booth earlier on my way to do some business and could see the schoolhouse was still teaching today which is a bit unusual as it's normally a day off for the kids. Anyroad, before I toddle of down to make my mark I want to be 100% positive I cross the right candidate, them being some sharks loose in the running. Just been trying to find whose up for grabs online. Has anybody got the right website to visit. Cheers fellas

Cheers fellas Arch, on the voting slip, each candidate has the logo of the party that they represent beside their name. IE...the now familiar £ logo is beside the UKIP name.

There must have been about 10 candidates on our ballot paper, didn't pay much attention to the others as I knew where my X was going.
I year today that Fusilier Lee Rigby was butchered to death on our streets ....I hope people remember this when they vote.
R.I.P Lee.

Oh dear, it could come as a terrible shock to Posh Dave, at just how many swivel eyed loonies, fruitcakes and closet racists there are in the country. Yup.....a terrible shock indeed!
