Hi drinkers There's an interesting article by Farage in todays "Tory" Telegraph. For all his moans and bellyaches I can read in it the underlying tone of we need a Tory government next time or we'll never get an EU referendum in the next decade. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/david-cameron/10860528/Match-your-words-with-action-David-Cameron.htmlEven he doesn't expect too many seats in the next election. When will you lot ever accept it'll be at least a decade before the UKIP changes from being a growing threat into a force to be reckoned with. If any one here disagrees with that just tell me how many seats you think they'll win in the Commmons in the 2020 G.Election

Nob I don't really know if you know how a protest vote works. If you vote for a party you don't really support to protest against them then when questioned say yes I'll back my normal party in the next election. What is the point in making a protest vote if the party you support doesn't think there is a possibility they'll lose voters. nob I'd take that 72.5% figure with a pinch of salt and even you know your taking things like this too seriously.

Y'know, reading old Smudger's posts can be very beneficial to the brain, it's a bit like mental PE innit. It rather reminds me of when I was first introduced to trigonometry at school. First off you had to work out wtf the equation was for the question being asked, then after doing that, you had to work out what the sodding thing actually meant in relation to the question being asked. However, on reflection, I reckon that trigonometry was probably easier Bless 'im tho eh?

Y'know, reading old Smudger's posts can be very beneficial to the brain, it's a bit like mental PE innit. ratarse I can see where you are going here. That wasn't one of my best bits of prose so I better try again. Nob I don't really know if you know how a protest vote works. If an elector wants to protest against his own party's policies he can make a protest vote by voting for another party when he knows the result of the election he is protest voting in will be of little significance to the present overall situation. The elector makes this protest vote hoping other members of his own party do the same to show his/her own party that certain members of their party are not happy with it's policies and at the next G. Election they might not vote for their "home" party. Sort of to scare them into changing.
This protest vote isn't worth the paper it is written on if you tell an election results poll it was only a protest vote so I'll be voting for my "home" party in the next G. Elect.
For a protest vote to work the party you normally vote for must think they will lose a vote in the next election to make them worried. So saying in an exit poll but I'll vote for my "home" party next time defeats the whole purpose of a protest vote.
So 72.5% is not, generally, really a true figure as far as future true voting intentions are concerned. There you go ratarse just PM me if you need more explanation.

Smudger, it's been a long time since I was a schoolboy, and I admit that much of what I learned has been forgotten. However, allow me to make a humble attempt to make sense of one section of your post, just by the simple addition of a few commas! That wasn't one of my best bits of prose, so I better try again. Now Smudger... my edited version might not be perfect, but it sure as hell makes more sense than that ineligible scrawl of yours.

Ratarse what if I pm you all my posts to correct before entering them in the forum? Do you think we could come to some arrangement? I'll reward you well by money transfers. All I need is your bank account number and sorting code. For really quick transfers of big money your psssword would really help it happen quicker.
