Nice, what software comes with it? No softwear Nob, it's just plug and play! It is strange though, getting used to a different sound coming from the puter, even though that sound is a lot nicer! You've obviously still got this cross dressing thing on your mind

Yep....as you can see, mine is directly over the puter. The bumpf said not to place it in enclosed places, but it works brilliantly in that alcove. It also said that although the sound comes from both back and front of the speaker, the nearer you put the back of it to a wall (but not against) the deeper and richer the bass becomes. I tried it by moving it back a couple of inches to within 1" of the wall.........it works! What I am wondering, is if I pair it to another device, say my lappy, then turn the desktop on and the lappy, what happens? They can't both play through the speaker at the same time. The pdf manual has nothing about that!

Frankly, I can't see what all the fuss is about...I hardly ever switch the sound on when using the puter. If I need to watch a dvd or film I use the TV. Fuss!!!!!!!!!! TV!!!!!!!! What fuss? What tv?

Nob, it can be paired with up to 6 devices, any device paired after 6 and the least used device is automatically 'unpaired' Nope...I haven't really got anything that I'd want to pair it with. If I paired it with either my lappy or my netbook, I'd have to carry the speaker around with me, and tbf, I did buy it specifically for my films and sport streaming which I use my A-in-One for. I know it is a 'mobile' speaker......but reeeeeeally!

This sound bar I got has Bluetooth I've paired it with the tablet and you can play music off it through the speakers, if I had any music on it that is.

Forgot to mention, this Bose speaker also has an auxiliary socket. I assume that a 3.5 plug from speaker to the 3.5 ' audio out' on the pc is how it works 'wired'.

Not really what I would call a 'manual' Nob, but there is decent one that I downloaded from the 'Bose' website. It tells you that it's a 3.5 socket in the speaker, but as it doesn't know what I (or anyone else) intends to connect at the other end, it just says "connect to" In my case it's the pc, so as I said, I 'assume' that it's the audio output socket. I did wonder however, if a 3.5 to USB cable would work. You probably know a lot more about this than me, what do you reckon?

Dave I wouldn't try a USB to 3.5mm adapter, I think its for tellies that have RCA connectors then they would use an adapter cable. You could damage the speakers with a USB to 3.5mm adaptor.

So yesterday, I finally made the decision to carry out a reshuffle of my entertainment layout. TV set............sacked! Yup, my 3yr old tv has been given it's P45, and is in the spare bedroom in a box waiting a decision on it's fate. Where my tv once lived, now resides my A-in-1 desktop, and my lappy occupies the spot where that once lived. From now on, my little upstairs 'office' is only to be used when I need to connect my printer or any other peripherals. So, not only has the tv set been sacked, but the tv license has met the same fate. No longer is yer boy contributing to those footy star type salaries, or the ridiculous pay-offs when someone leaves the bbc. Consequently..I this week received my very first love letter from them. Ah bless!!! Ah....the dreaded visit. Ok fellas, get ready to dance!
