Bought new ram from Crucial its an 8gb
i inserted new ram 5 or 6 times each time i do and turn on pc it wont power on
the minute i take it out and turn on it powers up
i have reset the cmos by removing the battery (im assuming thats how its done)
my scan from crucial says it can take 10gb max
unremoveable is 4gb so i assumed it would be a 6gb to be recommended but the scan came up with a 8gb so i went an bought that one but the pc wont power on when its inserted
TIA

Why not believe what the manufacturer says and that 10GB is the max. Contact Crucial and ask the question. Exchange it for a 4GB and it will probably work. 8GB is sufficient for most applications unless you have something unusual which is memory hungry.

If you know the motherboard google to find the RAM it supports. if you don't know it run Belarc advisor. Ive run the scan and it gives me the wrong info.

You checked the MB RAM and if its 10 then you need another 4 installed in slot A.
