nob why did you write TalkTalk hack at the start? There were tens of thousands of personal data files, from several websites including Government ones, for sale online months/years before TalkTalk was hacked, see your link. I just wonder what the point you're trying to make is?

Smudger, I think that Nob was just quoting the headline. If that sort of thing upsets you, then it's very possible that you need even more help than your doctor is already wasting his time giving you.

Ratarse with you as my bestest friend it's no wonder my greatest enemies are e-mailing me asking to become my bestest friend too. I ask why and they say your bestest friend seems to be to kick you when you have the rest of us filtered out

The fact that T.T. got hacked is disturbing rather than worrying. Let's face it T.T. was unlucky it just happened to be the one hacked. Any of the ISPs could have been similarly hacked with the same results so those users not with T.T. should count their lucky stars it wasn't their ISP this time but it might be the next time.

Guy on the news tother day said a lot of companies get hacked they arn't big profile like TT. Anyway I was with First Utility who appeared on Watchdog last week they are absolutely crap, so I've just switched to Robin Hood Energy to see how they perform, supposedly a none profit making company run from Nottingham council.

Heard yesterday BT and EE have been given the green light to merge. I have mobile with EE, might be worth considering transferring TT broadband to them now.
Wonder if there'll be a penalty incurred having not long taken out contract with TT. Can't see 'em arguing after their cock up.

Arch latest word is you can only break your contract for nowt if you personally have had your security physically compromised. So if nobody has broken into any of your bank or credit card accounts TT will assume these details have not been stolen. Arch I'm not too worried because my bank and credit cards are online and it takes minutes to check them daily. I also have used T.T's offer of 1 years free membership of a credit watching company like Noddle for free access to your "credit report". They will also tell you of any "strange" transactions. Might come to nothing but it is free to me, T.T. paying for it.

Im paying the exit fee to get out of First Utility they are that bad, contract is till April and they stopped sending bills so I've been paying what I guess but if I leave it I could end up owing hundreds, so Im bailing out.

Their b/b is very reasonable too, but once you've been on cable, there can no going back. Not too sure about this EE/BT thingy though. I'm surprised that the monopolies commission has allowed it. Hmmm....the slow shrinking of the number of competitors, usually has only one outcome. Hiked up prices.

Yes they are Smudger, they are surprising me very much. First up they surprised me by not asking my permission to change their name, and secondly, they surprised me by not investigating the claim from all of those website moderators that have accused you have having beaten off all competition for the title of most annoying prat, thereby creating a monopoly for it.
