Hmmm...I can confidently predict that he isn't a relative of Smudgers. The only denial of service old Smudger knows about is when he tries to get served at his local pub where a sign says .. "Pikies not welcome here." Ratarse it helps if your bestest friend appears to have engaged his brain instead of posting silly comments. How the hell does a pikie have a local pub?

Well, a dDOS attack implies "renting" thousands of compromised machines world wide on a time basis, and in the darker reaches of the interweb that costs serious money. Hence having paid out, the gits go for bigger institutions where they stand to gain to offset outlay. He can't have been that smart because he must have left a trail. Everything's trackable with sufficient will. Just another script kiddie that struck lucky I expect. I still haven't heard a peep out of TalkTalk. Hmmm. e&oe... Have you used a TOR browser joe? I've been looking at the system but not too sure about installing it.

Nob, a friend tells me that the simplest way to cover your tracks when browsing the web, is to install the FF addon 'AnonymoX' ... which at a single click changes your IP addy. My friend tells me that he uses it to access torrent sites that have been banned by his internet provider. My friend sez.

I have both Tor Web and Tor Bot on the 'phone. (you need at least Tor bot but any browser that supports Tor will suffice. I think "Pale Moon" does, but just go Tor Web and have done with it. I find that they are great if you're up to no good, but for general browsing they're too restrictive because many web sites wont play ball if they can't figure out where you're from.

Thanks for that, this new Edge browser has a privacy browsing thingy now I wonder if that's the same? I have both Tor Web and Tor Bot on the 'phone. Didn't want to install it cos my machine would be part of the ring, I think

Don't think so Nob, I think that it's exactly what it sounds like. Just doesn't keep your browsing history etc. A bit like running Ccleaner in tandem with it. Anonymox saves yer browsing history ok, it's just that no-one knows who you are. That's how it seems to me anyway, I think that most browsers have a similar setting.

Just had a look at this edge things private browsing, it deletes the history on closing but doesn't change the IP so its not like that one you have with FF.

FF does the same thing anyway...'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Privacy' > History' and in the drop down box > 'Never remember History' But of course, FF always did have the other browser's pants down.

BTW....don't try to log in here using Anonymox, proboards have banned their proxies. Of course, you can log in here and then turn on AnonymoX. Errrr..that's what my friend tells me anyway!

I think you're right Nob. Mine's disabled unless and until I should find a use for it, which isn't very public spirited but what with that recent Ansroid scare that I've already forgotten the name of...
Peter- yes that's the one. I know that there are "six counties", but I would struggle to name them. "Down"? that's one. Hmmm.

What about the OWLS last night, what a result Beating Arsenal 3.0 in front of 35000 was a real shock as the OWLS are in the process of rebuilding and trying to get back into the Premier league. When you look at the result and the ball procession..29% OWLS 71% Arsenal, how crazy was that. I wonder if Glenda was there.
