Hi Everyone
Do I need Windows 10 Creators Update or should I deny it access. Is it for me or is it for those that are more specialised on Windows subjects. Thanks

John its the W 10 new version, 1703 (OS Build 15063 483). I installed it a couple of months ago and everything went OK. The update takes a long time and appears to stick at 30% so just let it run. When the installation has finished make sure you turn system restore back on, the update will delete all your restore points.

Hi Geoff
It's only just been offered for my laptop and my Linx Tablet,as I haven't got a Desktop PC now. It also asked me to accept certain things which I haven't done as yet as I wasn't sure what I was accepting

If i remember correctly a dialogue box will ask if you want to review your privacy settings i clicked yes had a look at the settings and clicked OK. I think the update does some prep work in the background and the next day on boot up the updates were ready to install.

Been running it on the desktop for several months now, quite like it. It is just downloading on the lappy now, but it sure takes an age to install.

J, I would do one at a time, it takes SO long to work, the lappy has been going at it ALL afternoon, or, be prepared for a late night.

I just had to sit through several hours of the Anniversary Update. That all went well. Now it's grinding away at the Creators Update. Funnily enough, it says that the Creators Update contains all the previous patches etc, but that's not going to hold uncle Bill back from making me sit it out twice over. I hope it's worth the effort but we'll see. No holding breath here. I heard or read somewhere that you can shuffle along through a 3Gb Creators download only to be kicked into touch due to an unsupported hardware hash. Back to Android on the Nexus 7 for me.

Hi Steve
On my laptop it went through quite quickly about an hour and a half with no problems.
But on my Tablet it got to the end and then said words to the effect that my tablet had faults and something about not being enough room on my ramdisc, and suggested that I changed my operating system.
Initially when it did a check before installing it said that my Operating System - Memory - Disc space were all OK
I downloaded and installed it again with the same message appearing at the end.
So now it's still waiting to be installed.
But I'm not particularly bothered as I only use the tablet for checking all my CD's- Records, and DVD's when we go to carboots etc so I don't pay for something I already have.

After the Anniversary Update, Creators went through OK in about 2.5 hours John. I would not have known about either without The Squatters, but that's more a reflection on how little I use the lappie. I can't complain when it all goes to plan completely unattended, but I can't see what the difference is apart from it dumped all those little arrows back on my shortcuts (which I have removed already!) This laptop is used exclusively for banking. It only ever goes to my bank's web site and nowhere else. No email, memory sticks or CDs, nothing. It runs like lightning.

I don't know whether my W10 update today was the Creators one on not,but it took nearly an hour. When I restarted I find I can't get M/S Edge which had all my favourites on it.Everytime I click on it it just vanishes as soon as I start typing. I can get on the web thru I/E which brings up my AOL page and I am ok from there. But the loss of favourites is a big blow.Any help will be appreciated....

I can get on the web thru I/E which brings up my AOL page and I am ok from there. But the loss of favourites is a big blow.Any help will be appreciated.... Hi Pierre, Have a look here to see a possible fix ..... www.tenforums.com/browsers-email/81124-edge-non-responsive-after-creators-update.htmlor here ..... www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/microsoft-edge-wont-open-on-windows-10-solved/Alas, it suggests that the fix might not restore your favorites, but if this is the case, and your favorites are reasonably up-to-date in IE11, you could import these IE favorites back into Edge. To check your installed W10 version ..... Right-click on your Start button >> Run >> type winver in box >> OK The latest Creators Update version is 1703 (OS build 15063.540) Also have a look at Windows Update per ..... Start >> Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update >> click on the link Update history >> this will tell you whether your CU Update has failed or been successful. If none of the above fixes work, you could carry out a Repair Install of Windows 10 ... where you can elect to keep all your existing apps and files. Let me know if you have to try this, and I'll post a link that details the full procedures in a step-by-step tutorial. Good Luck, Spit
