Lets hope it stays that way. Is your printer too far away from the router? I would imagine they communicate through the router next time try turning off your router and back on again

Sorry fletch, when I say back to normal I mean C**p. My router is only two feet away from my desktop and the printer 4 feet.

Well I am glad to say epson chat came up trumps and gave me a link to how to reset the printer ports and I am now up and running. the delightful hannah could not give me any specific reason why I should have this problem after it working fine for the last year or so but suggested it may be the result of an update. I now only have to find out why my sytem restore points are being restricted to about 5 days just for future reference. Cheers

Hi Dinger I bet you're relieved to have got it sorted out and also know the cure for it, if it happens again heaven forbid.

Why is it that when I set a restore point in W10 it won't save? The next time I start the PC it's gone. I set it to 20% but every time I start the PC it has been set back to 0%

I think I've sorted it. The VSC service was set to manual, I have set it to automatic and it has not deleted the restore points I had made. (yet).

Did you have protection of the drive turned off, that's the default setting in 10. Volume Shadow Copy in Services. Protection is switched on, but is still setting the pointer back to 0% in System Protection so I lose all my restore points.

I've run SFC /Scannow a couple of times and its found corrupt files maybe give that a run Bob.
Have you tried a larger number than 20%.
