The milk companies missed a trick in the green credentials helter skelter. With their electric powered floats they were 70-odd years ahead of the curve. A milk float would make a slow ambulance, but by and large no one travels through cities faster than a milk float anyway.

Horse and cart? Powered by grass and pharts!
When I was five, we moved about 4-5 miles from an old mid terraced to a new build semi det. Pa thought he'd be a smart cookie and avoid the costs associated with removals by enlisting a man with a horse and cart. It's true! The flaw in his logic was that it took 4-5 journeys and wound up costing him more in the end, but the memory of moving house a-la Steptoe and Son is priceless :<D
That mid terrace was the place where we kids found a snake in the back garden and Pa was duly summoned home from work to deal with it. He chopped it in half with a spade (they were different times) and it transpired that it had actually been a magnificent three foot long grass snake. There comes a time in everyone's life when the penny drops that there are manifest chinks in our parents' armour.

Copied and pasted from a forum in the USA Quote FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — An electrical vehicle fire at Nissan Headquarters Tuesday afternoon required several more hours and 45 times more gallons of water to put out than a conventional vehicle fire. No damage occurred to the charger or other vehicles. According to King, firefighters are accustomed to responding to conventional vehicle fires, which are typically put out with one fire engine and anywhere from 500 to 1,000 gallons of water. However, Tuesday’s fire required nearly 45,000 gallons of water and multiple units, including an engine, tower, battalion chief, rescue, hazmat, and an air response vehicle. In a news release, the fire department urged EV owners to take precautions against fires. And those 45000 gallons are highly contaminated. Quote During an electric vehicle fire, over 100 organic chemicals are generated, including some incredibly toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide – both of which are fatal to humans. According to George Maloney, sub-officer in the operational team at the London Fire Brigade, the fire services are prepared for dealing with these toxic gases: ‘When dealing with any sort of vehicle fire, the fire brigade will always wear full PPE with respiratory equipment. ‘As far as we know, this seems to provide adequate protection against these toxic gases. ‘However, this level of protection isn’t necessarily available for all members of the public or for individuals from other public services ‘When we are using such vast amounts of water it is very easy for this contaminated water to enter drainage systems.’ airqualitynews.com/fuels/electric-vehicle-fires-should-we-be-concerned/

I don't necessarily agree with her 100%, but only a fool would opine that she was wrong. Plenty of"blind" fools out there who won't consider the possibility that she is correct to one extent or another. It's just another bl00dy religion to them.

We're just an easy target because they have been paper tigers with the rooskies too. Someone needs to remind them about the fate of The League of Nations.

I bought a pair of alpaca mittens from the Breast Cancer Charity website for a little present from Santa for Best Beloved. She put them on backwards and couldn't figure out why they were about 4" too long.
I've done this before on that website a couple of years ago and it took at least three weeks and a couple of mildly indignant eMails to arrest the resultant tide of spam ...

Not just the vulnerable nob. I keep a hoard of threatening letters as proof, and I would have twice as many if Best Beloved hadn't shredded a bundle. I suppose the difference is in the resilience.
