I use adblock plus. Each time I visit a page, the number of ads being stopped appears on the adblock icon. Just turned laptop on, and noticed there were no numbers showing up, despite trying several pages. I googled "my adblock has stopped working" (without commas) and there were lots of posts along those lines. The suggestion was to remove adblock and re-install it again, which I did and now it's ok. How odd?

Yes, but I am reassured that if others have experienced this, it aint me.

If you click on the AdBlock icon then on Options in the drop-down another small drop-down box opens where you can place a tick next to Count filter hits. Presumably this is why a number appears on the AdBlock icon. However, mine has never been ticked so no number has ever shown.

It doesn't really matter about counting how many it stops as long as it stops the adverts.

Interestingly enough. Turned laptop on today and noticed after a while, adblock was not working, (ccleanrer installation ?), removed adblock, re-installed and hey presto, numbers galore throughout.

Adblock Plus must be doing its job as I've not had any ads appearing. I tried the 'Green Snot' thingy before AP and was inundated with ads. Infact, until I installed 'Rain Alert' ( ) I'd forgotten all about ads

It means the layout is not as per laptop and the graphics are not to my liking, plus there are ads

Out for the day and on my return, turn on laptop, adblock has ceased, removed it, re-installed and now it's ok. I am wondering if it might make sence to remove ccleaner to enable adblock to function 24/7 and install ccleaner every month for it to carry out it's duty then remove it.
