the trouble is, they have far too many employees with nothing to do but think up ways to annoy us As also with their idea that new cars must have "running lights" which are on all the time, even during bright sunny days. Do they not realise that each car must produce just that little bit of extra energy, burning slightly more fuel, producing slightly more carbon dioxide to increase the carbon footprint of everyone with the millions of cars on the roads. Idiots, the lot of the Eurocrats!

Hi Roger
It said the other night on TV that it was a load of nonsense and a waste of money we spend on trying to keep our carbon footprint under control, because all the carbon footprints of everybody in the world from when it began until the present time doesn't amount to one Volcanic eruption, and how many of them over the years have we had.

Just one simple question JJ, did Henry VIII lie awake nights worrying about carbon footprints? Did Queen Victoria lie awake nights worrying about carbon footprints? No they didn't and the world survived so why are we falling for all this claptrap that suddenly the world, 2000 odd years old, is on it's last rights. Is it because there are now smarter peeps than there were 1000 years ago telling us we are doomed. Thank God that is a load of sh*t because according to our present sooth sayers, we should all be on our knees by our beds looking for the piss pot.

Also, methane is 20 times more polluting to the atmosphere than carbon dioxide and what do all the world`s farters do (including millions upon millions of animals) - yes, they fart methane. Do we kill them all to reduce our carbon footprint? We are being conned on this, left, right and centre. World warming is a cyclical event.

"World warming is a cyclical event"
Yes I agree, but this time around the cycle is exacerbated by mankind.

Oh the arrogance of our species, to think that this spinning old rock which has been around for summat like 5 billion years, is gonna get proper poorly 'cos of us, beggars belief! This old planet will still be here long after we have gone. Errrrr..imo

It's the atmosphere that's at risk, not the rock . We could just jump ship to the moon because there's no atmosphere there for us to bugger up. (D'oh!) The close-in rocky lumps will be here until the sun swallows them up whole, but as ratae says- we'll all be long gone by then. Some will be sitting pretty with 72 virgins each though... (you couldn't make it up could you!)
