Okey Dokey...........Ratae's official verdict, with added officialdom! England top the medal table, and for a change, those dastardly Aussies relegated to runners up. Actually all of the home nations did well, with Scotland also getting their best ever medal haul. Without a shadow of doubt, after what was by common consent an embarrassing opening ceremony, this games has turned out to be an outstanding success. Even the weather has for the most part excellent. The crowds have been superb, and ALL nations have had their competitors cheered to the heavens. Although I obviously haven't watched every competition, I've particularly enjoyed the cycling and the track and field. My top moment?......well it was a close choice between the two men's sprint relay events, the men's 4x100 and the men's 4x400....the 4x400 gold medal performance won it for me. A perfect race imo. One more thing, it was nice to see that the fat controller kept his smug face out of it..........very nice!

If so how the hell is he the controller? When the Olympics were held in London 2012 was her majesty deemed the controller? Bestest friend you're off on a tangent again so for effs sake forget the "potcheen" and post sensible night time posts.

Greetings Folks, Despite the poor weather during the last few days, the crowds were magnificent with their enthusiastic support for all the participants from all countries. I congratulated Londoners for their superb Olympic games, and now I congratulate the Glaswegians. There are too many brilliant performances to mention, but I thought our gymnasts were really outstanding. Best Ever Says a KiwiQuoteGlasgow 2014 has been hailed as "the standout Games in the history of the movement" by the Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive Mike Hooper.
After 11 days of action across 17 sports, the event came to a close at Hampden Park on Sunday evening, with hosts Scotland finishing fourth overall with a record haul of 19 golds and a best-ever tally of 53 medals.
England have topped the medal table for the first time in 28 years, Wales have surpassed their target of 27 and Northern Ireland have reaped their largest tally since the Games was last in Scotland in 1986.
Phil - sorry to hear that you're struggling so badly with constant pain ... hope it eases off a bit for you mate. Spit

Well bestest pal, it's obvious that you were not following those games as closely as the rest of us, or you would have indeed have either heard, or read, about the Fat Controller. So, for your information, he was celebrated Korean gentleman, who was his country's kipper racing champion. He was called the fat controller 'cos he was 6'4"...weighed seven stone and suffered from Tourette syndrome. Y'see, he wanted to be his country's sole representative at these games, but as Korea hasn't yet joined our commonwealth of nations, and as kipper racing is not yet on the list of commonwealth sports, plus the fact that the afore mentioned sole didn't want to be represented by a kipper abuser, he wasn't allowed to take part. Because of that, this fella had threatened to highjack the bbc blimp, and drop tons of rotting kippers on the closing ceremony! And that my old pal, is why I was glad that he kept he kept his smug face out of it! (Ask a silly question etc)

Yes, I'd like to add my congratulations to all concerned with the Commonwealth Games, it has been an outstanding success.
Many congratulations to all the England team, they did very well to top the medal table.
It was also good to see Scotland doing so well, especially as Shrek and The Painted Lady kept out of the limelight.
