Watched benefit street tother day, the benefit cuts are hurting the scum. One thing Posh has right. Its NOT only the scumbags its hurting either. My wife was diagnosed with a chronic incurable illness in july this year which renders her incapable of working. She is entitled to personal indepenance payments, which she applied for in July. Since then she has been given the run around by both the DWP and those shysters at ATOS. She finally got her assesment from ATOS at the beginning of November, since then she has been given more bullsh*t form both the DWP and ATOS. So before any of you start singing the praises of the benefit cuts. Think on how many deserving cases are being treated as scrotes. If it comes to the fact that we have to drag both agencies to the courts. I WILL!

Yep, I had several run ins with them before I reached state pension age as I was able to claim the princely sum of £10 per week as pension credit. As they set off my job pension against it. You would think that I had been claiming £100s a week the number of times they tried to get me for overpayment. Each time they lost, cos I was able to show that THEY had made mistakes. Now at pension age they can go and fcuk themselves. I think as far as they are concerned they are "NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE"! And thats disregarding the mess that our disabled son has had to put up with. That is another epic cock up by them. But they did not reckon on dinky the rebel! All sorted now.

It baffles me how those that haven't contributed anything, get everything. And those that have contributed, have difficulty to get anything without a load of hassle.

Jal an unemployed student with a degree hasn't contributed anything but he will get jobseeker's allowance and if he is married, housing benefit and income credits so JJ it is not only immigrants that benefit without contributing. Did anyone watch the BBC 2's "Truth About Immigration" last night? I thought it was a balanced programme. It pointed out all this forums anti EU opinions as expected but it also put forth "equal" reasons of what we'll lose if we leave. Did any of you UKIP watchers be surprised by the reasons for staying in. I don't mean did it change your objective but was any let's stay in arguments news to you? Some were new to me and although I want to stay in under renegotiated terms leaving the EU is at a higher price than the average quitter realises.

In fairness, ever since those prats Blair and Mad McBroon got in, and made the benefits system a free for all, and then appeared to adopt a 'don't ask don't tell' policy , the people who are tasked with trying to put it right, have one helluva job on their hands. I can only imagine some of the stories they are told, so trying to sort the wheat from the chaff is bound to be difficult. I do maintain tho' that they don't help themselves, by sometimes ignoring what should be blindingly obvious to most sensible people.

Sorry for all your family's problems with the DWP Dinky, and I'm glad to hear you're sorted now.
My comments are, I suppose, in support of the DWP, but can only be made as far as myself and my wife are concerned. I retired at the age of nearly 58 as, after 41 years service, my railway pension was paid for and I had the option to choose a 'Level Pension'. That meant I got a higher pension until I reached state pension age, but on reaching 65, my railway pension 'dropped' by almost the same amount as my state pension was worth. I have to say that both the RPMI (Railway pension) and DWP worked together and everything worked flawlessly. I did have a minor issue with HMRC and my tax code, but that was also quickly resolved. My wife, apart from the first couple of years of our marriage, did not work. A couple of years before she reached state pension age we asked for a statement of benefits for her. She had some automatic credits for the years when she was looking after our daughters, but the statement showed she was just 1 year short of qualifying for a 25% state pension. We weighed up the pros and cons, paid one year's stamp, and when she turned 60 she got her (reduced) state pension. Again everything worked flawlessly. so . . no complaints from me, but I can understand people's frustrations when things don't work out as expected, or as they should.

Any dealings I have now with the DWP I scan everything and copy it to 3 sets of different media, thats how I was able to prove that THEY were making the mistakes not me. They did not like it after they were proved to be both incompetant and with me they became vindictive. Would I ever trust them, YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING NEVER.

My sorry experience. Reired at 62 after having a heart attack, then suddenly deciding that the roses smelled nice, the skies were blue and the wabbits needing killing. So, after never in my life having claimed for diddly, I was told by some dept or other that I was allowed a reduced council tax bill. Fixed thought I. Filled in the info about any income that I had, and was told that my frozen pension needed to be unfrozen as it was taken into account, something that I intended to do anyway! Everything ok for the first couple of years. Then suddenly and without warning, I received a letter telling me that my council tax was no longer reduced. I got them on the dog! Me...."What's this all about then?" Woman....."It's this 'occupational pension' that you haven't told us about Mr Rats" Me....."Occupational pension?.....I wish! Don't have one, unlike yourself of course!" Woman......."Well, I'm afraid that's not what our information shows Mr Rats" Me....."Ok, pray tell, how much am I getting from this 'occupational pension' then?" Woman comes up with a figure! Me......"That's strange, that's exactly the same amount that I'm getting from my 'private' pension. That's one of those pensions that only the person pensioned pays into, in this case.......ME!" Woman...."Errrr, hold on a mo Mr Rats" .... Mr Rats, we'll get back to you!" Then it gets worse! After several phone calls, I'm transferred from the Birmingham DWP to some place oop north. It's during my conversation with them that I suddenly realise that this is the fraud investigation place. Finally, during anothe phone conversation I get to the bottom of what's going on! Bloke....."Mr Rats, even though this pension is not an occupational pension, it's one that you haven't told us about!" Me....."Ok, so who is paying me this pension?" He tells me. Stunned silence!!!!!!!!!!! Me....right, so this pension payed to me by xxxxxx, which just happens to be exactly the same amount as the one that I declared, and is payed to me on exactly the same date as the one that I did declare, which I might add, the name of no longer appears on my bank statements, is the problem is it? Bloke..."What are you saying Mr Rats?" Me....."I'll say it slowly so that you can understand ( I lurve a bit of sarcasm) My....pension......company........changed.....it's.........name........about............a..........year.........ago!" I received a letter of apology and a full refund of the council tax which I'd by then overpaid. Honestly folks..........YCNMTU
