I don't suppose you would remember whether JB was playing with them on the evening G? He was a "passing through" member after all but played on some of their most notable recordings a such as that one and "Over Under Sideways Down" too. Seen there playing a Guild 12 string guitar. I have a Guild 12 string- a Tacoma, USA built F512. It's a larger bodied instrument than that one and it feels like a grand piano thrumming on your lap! でつ e&oe ...Too much water under the bridge I'm afraid Steve I'd only be 14 or 15 - a LONG time ago

I received a nice shiney new nugget with a Chas head on it in some change yesterday.
It still doesn't look "right" to me. I suppose I'll get "His Majesty" in the statement about free passage and assistance on my passport when I can get my ar53 into gear to renew it.

I didn't know there was a Brexit 50p nob, but then again- TBH I don't see much in the way of hard currency at all these days, it's all gone plastic swipe which I regret. Cash ought to be king, it was the only way individuals could claw back any control over their lives.

Tsk tsk, who'd a thunk that The Royal Mint would be politically partisan, or that a majority of those in power were anti brexit?

Has anyone noticed that The Royal Mail seems to have gravitated to something like two deliveries each week? And, then you get perhaps a handful (and generally more) items at once, then bugger all for three or four days? As I understand the situation, The Royal Mail has an obligation to make daily deliveries, and the same managerial scrotes responsible for the wilful brinkmanship that has seen endless industrial action, have decided that perhaps there's a little wiggle room there- make deliveries on a daily basis, but not necessarily every address. They certainly don't appear to GAF about the fare paying customers.
My posties are without exception cheery souls, but canvass any of them about the managers and you get a blend of vitriol tempered with reservation about going on any record. Self-preservation? I guess so. It wasn't always thus, but then along came the tsunami of rampant privatisation ideology, you know- the type that elected to ignite all our gas reserves to humble miners into the gravel.

We just got stuck in a minor queue half an hour ago in the run down to the roundabout at the bottom of Egham Hill, and we glimpsed a motorcade of at least three large SUVs and a few motorcycles, without exception flashing blue lights, and all pursuant to a helicopter that circled the sky for all the time we were up at The Great Park today. For some reason they chose to take Tite Hill from the Egham bypass which heads uphill towards Englefield Green and The Airforces Memorial, which in turn gazes down upon The Magna Carta and Kennedy Memorials. It's a strange route to take for Windsor. Mayhaps a scenic route, or perhaps the Soonwhack Von der Leyen meeting is at one of the countless priviledged Des-Res piles that are to be found everywhere up there? It has to be said that even Madge cruised along Runnemede heading for the Old Windsor Straight Road, although TBF she was already brown bread.

I don't get why Chuck met her, but he is getting very political, it never ended well for the same named king. Perhaps time for another Oli.

Chat GPT.
You've probably heard of it, but more likely just thought "Whatever?" and you'd probably be not far from the truth. Try this exchange (not my own!) with Chat GPT that I copied from elsewhere on t'interweb:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Me: "What is 355/113 to 7 decimal places?" (Ya, I've studied 'pi' (and 'phi' and...) as an entertainment before  )
Chat GPT: "3.141592" (This is 7 decimal places?  )
~~~~~(Edit- Nope it's six decimal places- even yer silly hippie knows that!)~~~~~
*Me: "What is 3.141592?"
*Chat GPT: "3.141592 is the result of dividing 355 by 113 to 7 decimal places."
*Me: "What is 3.141592?"
*Chat GPT: "3.141592 is the mathematical constant Pi, most commonly rounded to 3.14. It is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter."
*Me: "Ok. What is '23'?"
*Chat Gpt: "23 is a number."
-Me: "Ok. What is '42'?"
*Chat Gpt: "42 is the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" from the book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice that this so-called artificial intelligence is so "smart" that it didn't recognise "Pi" as being the answer, it just number crunched it and spewed out an answer. So it wasn't "Pi" to it, it was just a number. Then being asked the answer again it knee-jerked a response. Asked the same question again it finally responded with Pi, but that was two different answers to the same question. How "smart" is that I ask? Then it simply replied that 23 is a number too. D'uh- no sh*t sherlock. So on a roll, it responds that 42 is not just a number, it is a "special" number because it recognised it from H2G2, yet it failed to pick up that 23 is actually prime and therefore has more relevance than just any old number.
Me, I'm waiting for the fireworks when this language model (for that is what it is- it's not A.I.) gets to grips with all that hieroglyphic wang dang doodle that those in the east seem to muddle along with. Sit back and light the blue touchpaper.

The scrotes at TV licensing are back on the case. No threatening letters since May and now I have one again. The tone is subdued so perhaps the regulator has rapped their knuckles?
