Not really worth wasting any breath on it but ...
I know there are those who adopt a holier than thou "trickle down" approach to Windoze- I've seen it on here from time to time, but I've wasted far too much of my life watching animated drums and winged file icons. After a couple of hours of looking at "Installing 20%" and deciding to shut down just to change what I'm looking at, followed by "Getting Windows ready, don't turn off your computer" for another 30-odd minutes, it's long press the big switch time. Mediocre cr4p. All because of the perennial installation "Error 1618" (another installation is yadda yadda). All I want to do is install a driver. Absolute junk. Once it was merely irritating. Now it has elevated to a war of attrition. They have reinvented the operating system as a "Service" rather than an all conquering machine numbing programme. Some bl00dy service.
The machine eventually restarted. I immediately initiated, and it recalcitrantly limped through the driver install. Went back to MS Updates ...
"Installing 20%" B0110x I'm off to bed, that usually does the trick.
Android is tap update- downloading xx%- Installing, done.
