The numbers are irrelevant. It's like an American election- you chuck enough dollar at it and success begins to look realistic. Likewise the Bohemoth at Redmond- foist it onto sufficient numbers of machines via a Ten take up plan, and sooner or later folks will follow the path of least resistance. I've obviously tried out edge and it's certainly streamlined and zippy, but it didn't tick my boxes enough to headhunt me away from Opera. Opera appears to offer more configurability and for myself at least has the killer forward and back mouse button combos.
I've noticed that Real Downloader seems happier with all the recent flavours of Edge than it is with Opera, so when on a save video spree I have both browsers running because I prefer not to sign in with YouTube on Edge. Just me.

I can't really comment enough on Edge, I hardly ever use it. I just thought I'd mention the news story. Firefox seems OK, but my parents use it for their stuff, not me - again, hardly use it.
I do use Opera, but currently considering some of the others such as Brave, or Safari.
