Last night my laptop downloaded
March 9, 2021—KB5000802 (Update for W10 version 20H2 for x64-based systems)
Today every web page I've tried to open is hanging for an age before it opens ?? Could it be the update or something else and just a coincidence that it's doing it after the update ??
As always any help would be appreciated
Thanks G.

Hello Egg I've had problems at times since installing that update, but that could be down to unrelated matters. MS did pull the update briefly, because of it causing problems with some peoples wireless network printers. They may have started rolling it out again though. Your laptop downloaded it, so it was made available automatically via Windows Update. Lots of people having problems with this one. thewincentral.com/microsoft-pulls-windows-10-update-kb5000802-because-of-bsod-issue-10032/Can you not do a System Restore to an earlier time ? (Mind you, I tried that and it downloaded the update again) There was another one KB4589212, a separate one, I don't know whether that could be causing it. I'm trying to look in to it, and seeing what I can find out anyway. Sorry I can't be of any more assistance than that just yet.

Have you experienced any Blue Screen issues yet ? Have you tried to print ?
Have you ran CCleaner ?
It may well be down to broadband issues ?

Hi Matt, No Blue screen issues, no issues with printing and I haven't run CCleaner yet but I do it regularly and it was run only about 3 days ago. Strange development though. Yesterday I uninstalled the update and after reboot all was back to normal. Last night the update reinstalled. This morning NO PROBLEMS at all ?? Maybe I just needed a reboot in the first place ?? I'll get back to you if anything else happens Thanks for your time and help. G.

Glad you're not having any problems now though. By the way, I wouldn't rely on me too much for answers, there are far more knowledgeable users than me on here. I wouldn't make that great a tech support person. On another subject, I replied to the query you posted about regarding Gmail and MP4's. Have you had a look ? It may help with that.

Matt, I hadn't seen your reply I'll look when I've replied to this one. nob, I usually leave updates till I shut my laptop down. I get the options............ Update and restart or Update and shut down I always choose the last one because it's usually bed time when I switch off Thanks for all the help. G.

Update and restart or Update and shut down I always choose the last one because it's usually bed time when I switch off It's usually best to hit the 'Restart Now' button, and let the laptop / PC restart when applying a Windows update. It takes a little while, but generally best to.

Thanks Matt, I'll remember that. I usually click on Install and shut down so that the laptop isn't on all night. I'll have to install updates at a more reasonable time during the day
