I saw how they acted during the miners strike. As for the CPS when Starmer was in charge he let Savile off the hook, not enough evidence.  |

It's never wise to generalise- it wasn't all of the police back then. I think "The Met" were the principal aggressors? Fair play they had to deal with burgeoning crowds, but I remember learning at the time that "The Met" had stickers printed with the slogan "Don't Mess With The Met" which they plastered all over the shop when seconded to the coal fields away from their cucooned manor, and if that was true then they should hang their collective heads in shame. A good forty years on and many of us still have vivid memories? The trouble is arrogance never displays contrition ...

They would hold their wage slips up to the bus windows as they ferried them into the pickets. A lot of Hampshire coppers as well.
