So guys, as most of our veteran squatters will know. I, for a great many years, was a massive fan of the Firefox browser. However, I switched to Chrome a few years ago, it was around the time that FF started messing around with it's browser and eventually removed all of the terrific addons that I had found so useful over the years. At this time, I have to admit that I was also using the Chromium browser on my Linux lappy. Anyway, earlier, I opened Firefox to update it..... OMG, what an awful mess the developers have made of it, makes one wonder what they were smoking at this time! In fact, it seems to me that Chrome has morphed into everything that Firefox used to be, Personally, I find it terribly sad that a once great browser has sunk so low.

I use FF as its home page to track flights that's all, the browsing is done with Edge. Chrome for me is too tied up to Google, just a personal choice.

Were you using Chromium or Chrome Rats? Quite a few burning hoops with Chromium. Finding it for one, and installing the required Google APIs for another.

It was several years ago and I seem to remember that Chromium was the default browser that came pre-installed on the Ubuntu distro that I put on my Netbook. That's the way that I remember it anyhow.

You're right D and I had forgotten you were a Linux jockey. I think there's no need for Google APIs with Linux? Having grappled succesfully with that hassle on Windows 7, I can confirm that someone somewhere doesn't really want us to use Chromium instead of Chrome! When Chromium looks identical to Chrome, I wonder why all the hurdles which includes tracking down the actual downloads? After persevering with Chromium, I went back to my old favourite Opera. True that runs on the Chromium engine too, but the mouse button navigation facility is the killer for me. When you get used to that, other browsers just don't cut it.
