Apparently, my parents had a recorded message call from this number, saying something like "their Amazon Prime account had been hacked" (they don't have one !)

I get them but they are going to renew my Prime account I don't have one they say press button 1 to talk to someone, its a scam, I just let it time out.

We know it's a scam as well, we usually just end the call (we never speak to anyone).

Cunning though, that they're using 0800 numbers.

We had one for the same sort of thing not long ago, but from what looked like a mobile number. I'd have to dig it out, but it began with 07 anyway. The 070 numbers we definitely avoid as those are 'personal numbers' and ordinarily cost (about) 50p a minute to call back.

I had a lot of them a couple of weeks ago, sometimes 3 a day.
Never the same number but all were an American voice saying I had to contact Amazon as my account was being increased to £35 a month.
As it was the time Keesha had her operation, I answered the first couple as the Vet. sometimes calls on the landline and I was waiting for the results of the investigations they did on the tumour they removed.
I just ignored them after that. I did check a couple with "Who called me" but didn't get a result.
It's the ones who aren't savvy with this sort of thing that I feel sorry for.
