I checked that website using an addy that I know for sure had been breached in one of the hacks but had been unable to trace the corporation responsible for the lapse. I was kind of hoping to flesh out the responsible company? In that linked Firefox website it states that the address I supplied had no record of any breaches. I began to wonder about the logic of putting any eMail addy into such a search facility even before I did it. The negative result just reinforced that suspicion. What a world we live in? What a jolly jape to build a database of live addys?

I suspected Adobe Systems may have been the culprit, but that Firefox web page gave me a clean bill. Oh well onwards and upwards. I'd like to meet one of these slime-sucking protozoans some time ... The other website I'm referring to that flagged up my addy on a list is: www.haveibeenpwned.comI ploughed through the hundreds of hacked websites at that URL taking screen shots of likely candidates, but as I said it doesn't tell you which outfit(s) was/were compromised. Thinking about it- TalkTalk are probably the ones. It wouldn't surprise me. That flippin' Dido woman. e&oe ...

Therein lies the strength of exchanges such as this forum facilitates. I would not have heard of that site otherwise. The fact is, which one (if any) is to be relied upon? We can only be as vigilant as possible.

Last.fm reported mine, and Adobe as far as I remember.
I would have thought I would be able to trust Mozilla anyway, otherwise I wouldn't use Firefox - or Thunderbird or any other Mozilla products.
