I was thinking of choosing Avast as a replacement anti-virus. It seems unlikely now though.

Wise decision mrmatt the trouble with Avast that once installed they bug you to buy more and more to supposedly enhance the anti-virus. They are part of the group that own AVG and Piriform. When my Avast finished I went over to Bitdefender.
