I must say I've personally nothing against the guy, and I do watch snooker sometimes. I'm not a big fan though.
I think it was a shock to my system ages ago when I first realised that a place name isn't necessarily unique, that there can be more than of them in the same country - and abroad, even !
He must have been given a fair amount of information beforehand though.

Ha ha! but confess I did it myself once. Put the address in but didn't have the post code and couldn't be bothered looking it up. Set off and luckily after a short distance thought to myself this doesn't feel right studied the screen and noticed The destination eta was 7 hours 45 minutes the place I wanted I knew was just over an hours so had another stab at it and got it right second time.
This reminds me of an incident a few years ago. We live south of Birmingham and I was filling up at a petrol station on the A45 near to the Nat Exhibition Centre. This car pulled full of kids and wife. The bloke got out and with a strong Scottish accent asked if I could direct him to Blackpool, they were from somewhere north of the border and going to see the lights.
It seems he had been there once before and recalled there was a right turn off the M6 onto another motorway. He had missed the M55 turn off to Blackpool, then 2 hours drive further south disregarded the M5 turn off to the South Country which, if nothing else, should have given him a clue he had passed Blackpool. Then after battling his weary tribe across Birmingham's spaghetti junction, which should have been another clue, he had mistakenly got the M42 confused with the M55 ending up outside the National Ex. Centre well south of Brum. I told him retrace your steps for about 3 hours then after Preston keep an eye open for the M55 and make a left. Bet he was well knackered when they eventually got there.
My wife is the world's worse navigator but even she couldn't believe how he could not realise before getting this far south.
