I have found tonight when updating from 67.0.2, that when it installs, it tells you to create a new profile. It didn't in my case (like it says) create an Old Firefox Profile folder on the desktop (not sure why).
In order, to get my old profile back, I had to type in about:profiles, then check to see which one was the old one (by Launch in a New Browser), then set that one as Default (in order to get back the history, bookmarks etc).

I just ignored it and everything works fine. Can't guarantee that for everyone though. Take a copy of your profile first before ignoring the message.
