Any thoughts on this...what I'm trying to say is broadband in a caravan or a boat, other than using a mobile phone and tethering. I'll be away from the landline for a couple of months, and as my mobile is not a smart phone,I've got to either bite the bullet and get one,or find an alternative way to get broadband.

I have a caravan where I spend 2 of every 3 weeks in the summer. I use a 3/4G dongle and it works fine. Check which network is strongest in the area you will be staying. Buying data on any particular network can vary in cost. I have found "3" to be the cheapest by purchasing the sim from eBay in either a 12 or 24GB size.

I use an EE Dongle just top it up with £22 for 10g last for 90 days, or until you've used the 10gig up easy to top up with an EE dongle card if you do use all your Data up. Or visit an EE shop.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I'm not sure about the strongest signal,so that's the next step. Do dongles work with a tablet,or do you have to plug in to a laptop? (The only ones I've seen have a large size plug),

Yes they work with a tablet & iPad & laptop & also my wifes iPad
We take all 4 on our 6 weeks holiday to the South of France with the touring caravan.
After turned on it just sits near you until you turn it off.
No you don't have to plug it into any of your appliances, the only time you plug it in is to charge it up, on the side is a gauge with 4 little lights if they gradually go down to one light just put it on charge while you are still using it & it will charge back up aagain.

Sorry I was a few days answering but I didn't know until I arrived home today as we've been away for the week.
