Hi all
im at work trying to Password folders but it wont let me going trough the right click option to properties > advanced > but the option to encrypt data is greyed out ive tried the suggestions to the regeit etc etc but nothing works
does anyone know of a free program that can do it with out any problems
all help received will be brilliant

Do you have Encryption enabled within Services Pat? Also, do you think it may be related to the dreaded UAC? ("User Access Control")

I can't suggest any such programme Pat because I've not felt the need and I always suspect hidden back doors if not outright root kits. I guess at work it's a different story. At work (and thus on a domain) you must be using a "Pro" variant OS. Will your Admin allow the use of a third party encryption solution? Mine didn't, so I hacked admin rights and buried private files right down in the operating system. Just a thought.
Another trick I used was naming private directories with the ASCII255 trick. It won't fool the tech savvy, but most folk don't look for what they cannot see!
