I've never used different user accounts before until now.I have myself and wife on my desktop... We've noticed that one can't copy from say my account, and paste to her account etc. Also, when she tried ordering (Christmas pressies) from Amazon, it only recognised ME, even though she is registered with them Would I be correct in assuming it's because Amazon recognises my IP address? Is this correct or is there a way around it please? Sorry for asking such dumb questions, I'm completely new to this (even though I've had a PC for quite a few years

Only one account is active at any one time so copy/paste between accounts is not possible.
Amazon works on account details not on IP. Most people are not on a static IP anyway so it changes almost daily.

I get around this when trying to log on with SWMBO's credentials as well as my own by using two different browsers. I'm on a fixed IP.

No good banjo. Obviously my browser (Palemoon) works fine, but SWMBO tried on both Edge and IE to no avail. Sorry if it's me, not knowing much about account user's.

Regarding the Amazon problem. There is absolutely no reason why several accounts can be on a single computer, each with its own login details. I personally have 3. What may be happening is that if you are trying to log in the computer is actually using YOUR saved details (Name, password) which is stored in your browser info. Sometimes the login can be so quick you don't have chance to enter anyone else's details. Make sure that you use your wife's info to log into Windows as your data and her data are stored in different user profiles.

sorry for late reply Alan. I've had Man flue and not wanted to see a PC yes mine & her account on Amazon work fine, using my browser's. Just having problems Getting her user account to acknowledge it (or more likely me to understand) properly. As It's all gobbledygook to me at the moment, I'll have a browse at some tutorials etc, when time, so I can get my head around it better, to save wasting people on this forum's time. But thanks for your help anyway.
