WiFi router advice.

Right then, I need a bit of advice which can possibly only come from a Virgin broadband user.

Y'see t'other day I received a message from Virgin which informed me that they were rolling out this Virgin Connect mobile hotspot thingy which is similar to the one that BT run.

This hotspot service is supposed to give Virgin customers access to millions of mobile WiFi hotspots regardless of whether you use Virgin mobile.

Two things are needed, the Virgin Connect hotspot app and a Virgin superhub3 router. I think that with Android devices a system version 5 or newer is required.

Anyway, my Virgin hub is an older one so today I've ordered a new Superhub3.

I've had a little shufty on the internet about these Superhubs and there seems to be mixed reviews. So, are any of you guys using one and if you are, what do yer reckon?

No idea about virgin, as I am with BT. Last week my 9yr old router packed up, phoned BT they sent me out a little bit of kit called a mini hub within 24 hrs and sent out the 6th gen hub/router. The mini hub is great and so far since it has been in the system is the new router.

On TT so I cant comment, but looking on google people seem happy with it, just plug it in and away you go.

No cables anywhere near this rural backwater,so can't help.
I'm sure that someone else on here must have the same system.

Right then folks, this new router was delivered yesterday and I've just finished installing it. As you might expect it's just basically PnP then you phone a number and someone at Virgin activated your new network.

Anyway...the whole thing took around 30 mins and everything is looking good. As my main puter is connected via ethernet I did a wifi speedtest on my Sony tablet and it showed 55mbs on my 50mbs connection.

ATM....cooking on gas!
