Thank you to everyone.
We went to Fawley (Ashlett Creek) on the western side of Southamton Water and had a swift 'arf on the green outside "The Jo ly Sai or" whilst watching the boats in the creek on what turned out to be a stonking sunny day. Walked to Calshott Castle (Waste of time!) and returned for an evening chow down back at "The Jo ly Sai or".
As you get older, lttle things like this on The Squatters seem to mean as much as the usual birthday stuff...
