Over the last few days I've had edge popping open pages, anything from a ransom page to advertising shopping. I've thrown everything at it, superantispyware, AVG, Malwarebytes, spyhunter and others I have. It started with a ransom page and I clicked the wrong button instead of task manager to close edge or opening a Google page and close all. Then I came across this. It found the location and fixed it along with other small things it didn't like. It's well worth having on your computer, its not just edge that wonderads effects but all browsers.

No Dave, It starts off with "youhomepage.com" I think it should say your home page, then it goes to another thing then multiple tabs open up to different sites, they just keep opening. Its a nasty little twat. The edge is part of windows so you cant see any addons but that was irrelevant it was in c:\WINDOWS\SYSNATIVE folder that has now gone. I'd have never found it without that. System restore was also a no go. I removed Edge and reinstalled it cos I thought it had damaged edge. I think your default browser would open mine happens to be edge.

Hmmm, y'see I regularly get some of those 'ransom' sites hijacking my screen when I use a few of those sports streaming sites. Mostly it's that one saying it's from M/soft but I get some of the others too.
If they freeze the whole screen including the task bar, I just press 'Ctrl+Shift+Esc' then use the Task Manager to shut it down!

That's the one from M$ the problem with Edge is it opens with the last page so your back there. If you can get to the home button or the cross quick enough four fine. What I did was click a button on the page, hence Wonderads. What I then started to do is start button and in the run box put Google, a new tab opens with Google. Then closing that page you get the option to close all it then opens with Google. Delete all history etc.

No JJ, I have Edge, IE and FF and Chrome, the default is Edge. The Edge that comes with the anniversary update allows you to see addons. This doesn't on mine. But like I said it wasn't an addon that was causing the problem.
