Hi,
Currently, I am running Windows 8.1 on my desktop PC. I have the W10 notification, and have checked there are no issues with my hardware or Software. My current SSD is close to full, and I have a new (larger) SSD ready. (I want to do a fresh install, as there are certain issues I need to address, and a clean install should fix them)
I have Discs for both Windows 7 & 8 (both 64 bit & both will get me the same version of W10), and was wondering if I should load Windows 7 onto the new SSD, update it and then upgrade to Windows 10. I know this will involve more updates, but the Key is not in use, and I would still have the other SSD with W8.1 on should I encounter issues.
If I reload with W8, and do all the upgrades etc, would I have problems as my Windows 8 key is in use on my current PC (not that I'd use the 2 at the same time).
What would members do?
Thanks

Um - yes - I have already downloaded the files (to a USB) www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10I did think I could just run the setup files from this, use my Windows 7 Key, and then I'd have a new uncluttered installation of Windows 10. As I now understand it (from tinyurl.com/nwqknxl ) I will have to load Windows 7 (or 8) first, do all the updates, and then run the setup files from the USB. Thanks

Upgraded to 10 from 7, it looked awful with the two systems on. Reverted back to 7. I would think going from 8 to 10 would be fine as they both use apps and tiles.
