Morning chaps, Need to pick you brains. Probably a daft question for all you techie chaps so forgive me if it seems stupid. I've been transferring movies from disc to my PC. The idea is that I will transfer to my ipad so I can use when I go away on hols. The last movie I transferred was 2.3Gb. A fair old size of a file. I thought I would buy a 32 Gb SD card, stick them on there and it saves bogging down my Ipad. Am I right in thinking I could get about 15 movies on a 32 Gb card (15 x 2.3)? I know I need a SD card cable but are there any other pitfalls to this wheeze? many thanks Axie

I use a USB stick that SD cards fit into to put stuff onto a card, the cards have a bit of software on them so as for 15 movies I dunnow you will fit as many as it allows.

I've got a 32gb sdhc in camcorder, and that holds 2hr 40min @ 28mbps VBR. If I render 1hr 20min various video @ 1080/50p using a Sony AVC template, it would result in around 26gb of space, so in theory depending on the codec, you should fit quite a bit on a 32gb card. Kings3

If you use Ebuyer USB sticks are a good price.

Ok Chaps. The theory was as follows. I used Handbrake to rip my movies to my desktop. No problems. I then transferred the movies to a SD card. No problems. I then plugged in a 'Lightning to SD card cable' into my Ipad, stuck in the SD card (containing the movies) to view the movies. Bollox! No sign of the movies on the SD card, on the Ipad, yet they appear when SD card is plugged into my PC. They are in m4v format, so would that be the reason they are not appearing om the Ipad? Any thoughts ?

Formatted to FAT 32 then add the file, does that work.
