Upping from 8 to 8.1on an HP laptop, can I save emails, pics etc on a memory stick.

Upping from 8 to 8.1on an HP laptop, can I save emails, pics etc on a memory stick. It's not so much a full W8.1 install it's more of a big update. When i did the update to 8.1 all my files and folders remained unaffected but i did back up photo's etc prior to updating. |

Stick the max RAM in it the MB will support.

Sorry for the late reply. First two updates failed but third time lucky. Sadly the laptops performance hasn't improved one bit. I've updated windows O/S from WIN 95 through most of them to Win 7 and my performance has never increased with each upgrade but there again I never expected it to. The functions available increased but not my PC's performance. Why do you expect an O/S upgrade to increase your performance?  |

Sorry for the late reply. Sadly the laptops performance hasn't improved one bit. There was no improvement to mine either but the PC was pretty quick prior to updating , i think the update just tarted up the OS. |
