I've been getting a CMD error at shutdown over the last few days, doing a search shows the latest windows Update screws with Nvidia's GeForce Experience software.

Nob, I've not had that particular problem even though I do have a Nvidia GeForce graphics card installed. I did however have an issue for a couple of days after the last batch of updates. I installed 10 updates on 10th December and noticed that when using Task Manager, I couldn't get it to display 'Processes from All Users' and also it wouldn't shut down by clicking the red X. It wasn't a big deal as such, but I started to have a look round to see if anyone else was experiencing similar problems. Then, out of the blue, I got another update (KB3024777) to install on 12th December and that has cured it. If others are having the same issue as yourself, maybe MS will do something similar and issue a fix.

That's what Im hoping for Alan, I uninstalled GeForce Experience and that cured it, then I reinstalled it. I'll wait till another windows update arrives to sort it and just put up with the error notice. Do you have Experience installed it auto finds updates for your card and more. www.geforce.co.uk/geforce-experience

Nob, reading a bit more about this and it gets intriguing. Apparently KB3004394 was the culprit in creating a lot of issues for people, including issues with the CMD prompt. It appears that KB3024777, which was released a couple of days later, and which I installed on the 12th, was the fix for the earlier rogue KB.
Posted at same time as you. No, I don't have 'Experience' installed, so that's probably why I never got the same prob.
I should have mentioned that I was getting odd UAC prompts as well, even when trying to open 'Task Manager' !

I have those Updates installed Alan and it hasn't cured the Nvidia problem so lets hope M$ get on the case. BTW I haven't had task manager issues just the CMD error.
