Haven't got me 'ead around this one yet, but something doesn't seem quite right? He's goddamn idle though. It sticks in the craw to discover that the company will have to consider a request for a Lazeeboy recliner for my man to occupy while he's twiddling his thumbs between surfing on his 'phone and signing forms. OTOH one of our top dogs is a gargantuan grazer! Couldn't get up the stairs once (had to work from home) so possibly a Stannah there? Could be fun for the rest of us! *Disclaimer: they're both kind people so it's me that has the real problem. e&oe |

Here I am, totally mystified by how our fellow drinkers spend their time online? What strange websites does a drinker trawl to find such useless info as the shortest double yellow lines baffling Cambridge residents. Who gives a Duck? It seems laughable doesn't it, but actually I stopped laughing at this stuff a while ago, when I slowly began to realise that many of our senior army staff had become like our police force's Chief Constables! That is that they were promoted based on their ability to be politically correct. Each time that I've heard these top brass officers being interviewed on tv, I'm struck by how much they sound like politicians rather than like soldiers. So now it always seems that the mission isn't just to defeat our enemies, now we have to change their societies, make it so their women can wear make-up or go to school, make them accept homosexuality or build them schools and hospitals. And god forbid if one of our squaddies gives someone a slap, then it's immediately off to the tax payer funded legal aid lawyers to get a truck load of compo innit! The truth is, the Yanks apparently have written us off as reliably staunch allies because our mission in Basra (Iraq) was a disaster, and I'm afraid, our mission in Helmand would have been (and still might be) had the Yanks not come to our aid. It ain't the fault of the squaddies, it's the office generals that are the problem. Let's face it, Monty or Patton they aint! |

Yep...Posh Dave brought that one in and strangely enough, the libdems didn't try to veto it!  I suspect that the right wing of the Tory party will never forgive Posh Dave for that! |
