Fellow drinkers/friends,it is with great sadness I have to tell you our dearest friend ANNE died peacefully surrounded by her family yesterday. She had been bravely battling cancer for over 2 years. She knew she hadn't much time left and came home to die. Since she had found out about her cancer she lived life to the full, she went abroad holidaying and only recently managed a camping trip with her husband Jim. She has a wonderful family who surrounded her with love all the time so she was never alone.
Rest in Peace dear friend and may God bless you.

This is terrible news. I imagine that some drinkers knew she was very ill? It's to her credit that she did not trumpet her cause in public as seems to be so commonplace these days. My best beloved kept her succesful battle with BC to herself too. I'm really sad. Because it's unexpected, it's a shocking bit of news. R.I.P. Anne, I'm sorry that I didn't turn out to be another girlie on the board for you.

Yes a very sad day for The Squatters members and Anne's family, as Anne was very brave and never complained about her problems, even up to the end. She will be Greatly missed on the Squatters by all that knew her.
R.I.P. Anne

The strange thing is, although I'd never even met her,I still feel like I've lost one of my best pals. Don't really know quite what to say, except my deepest sympathy goes out to her beloved husband and the rest of her family..........I have been dreading this news!

I do remember Anne saying she was going for tests, this was quite some time ago. We all wished her well and nothing more was ever said. Like everyone else we are all really shocked. Such a sad loss, a nice lady. Condolences to her husband and family at this sad time. R I P Anne.
