daughter has picked up a chromecast usb from tesco for about £18, (usually £30). some sort of promotion at the time. daughter and co love it but soon ran out of their months allowance of 35gb. they blamed netflix as the one that pushed it. anyway the chromcast dongle plugs into the telly and its a simple setup. it must be easy because her hubby did it and had it up and running in no time. www.tesco.com/direct/google-chromecast-hdmi-streaming-media-player/286-1656.prdsince heard that they have gone for a larger broadband package, nearly 3 times bigger. they'll have square eyes

Read it it connects to your phone, tablet etc. is it Bluetooth then. exactly nob, from devices to tv. at max a Chromecast can send 720P from within a Google Chrome Browser and it does it well to the tv, as you say nob. it has freebies bbci player but some services need a subscription, netflix, etc. mainly a wireless way to watch stuff on the tv, instead of the laptop. it uses the devices to push content to the screen. but there other types of streaming devices, such as Roku which is a standalone device. a bit dearer at £50 but it can push stuff further at 1080P content. but Chromcast has the edge in the price war. www.google.co.uk/chrome/devices/chromecast/

The other option is the NowTV box. These don't have HD capability but they are really cheap at £10: www.nowtv.com/boxIts a Sky product so you can buy bundles of other entertainment as part of the package. The Roku stick is slightly better than the Google Chromecast as it has a wider choice and better HD capability, it also comes with a remote. This is where the Chromecast wins out for me as you can just use your computer/tablet/smartphone to control it rather than having another little box to lose. I've had a Chromecast for several months now and it is a brilliant little toy. One thing I would say though is the devices tend to be HDMI connections (rather than USB) so if your TV only has one HDMI port you might need to buy a 2 or 3 way switchable HDMI adapter. Any of the 3 devices mentioned are a good buy at the prices charged, I doubt you would regret buying any of them.

hi, sky Now is good addition, plus the low price. its a small white box and looks well. think of it as a door opener for sky and all channels which can be added as the customer requires. just had a look, you get access to BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, BBC News app, Sky News and the box's namesake service. according to the blurb theres access to 4oD, so you'll also be able to catch up on Homeland, Misfits and Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners www.expertreviews.co.uk/media-streamers/1400602/now-tv-review-we-test-the-sky-now-tv-box-service-and-content
