When using skype I have been connecting my laptop to the TV to see my grandchildren on the 'big' screen.
This is accomplished by connecting laptop to TV using an HDMI cable and then selecting an HDMI channel on TV, in my case it is 3.
For some reason the last couple of times I have tried this no picture is seen. However I have just connected and all is well, as was the case when a friend was going to try and identify the problem. In between these two instances the picture has been lost again.
I presume that I must be switching something off on the laptop but I don't know what it is.
Any suggestions.

Thanks for reply. Have followed link and changed setting on laptop to project onto a second screen, will have to see if it works next time I skype.
