With the price of diesel in some areas now over 130p a litre, hauliers say that a planned 2p fuel tax rise, will drive many firms out of business. Protesters are demanding an “essential user” duty rebate of between 20p – 30p for HGV drivers
What about us normal car uses If there's no action in 14 days then the next plan will be put in place." It is understood this could involve blockading fuel refineries.
Better get the mower filled up They should blockade London until the government agree but I bet they just go home

It seems the French protesters are having some affect on their President news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7421198.stmif he is successful it would reduce the price for all motorists, but I'm not holding my breath

This is what really pisses me off about the fuel protesters, they say they are "essential users" i to am an essential user,i work out of town with no bus service to my place of work, why should they get a rebate and the rest of us not?

A report on radio 4 last week stated that the government could drop the fuel duty by 12% and still meet the budget targets for revenue from fuel due to the increased cost of crude...... will they drop it? not a chance!
Run 14 artics at the minute (just the manager, dont own 'em) we pay 108 pence per litre up 26% in last 18 months yet the rates our client wants to pay is the same as 3 years ago....... All because the supermarkets won't take a price increase on the goods we produce. Why wont they? well because, the public won't buy the stuff if the price keeps increasing, because we need all our money to buy fuel!
Drop the duty on fuel, the economy improve and consumer spending will increase as we all have more disposable income..... simple really.

Its blair that left the place in this mess, Gordons had to pick up all the s*it. Blair's mouth only worked when Gordon pulled his 'string'.... He's run the country for 10 years, he's controlled the money, and he's put us in this mess! He has the power to put this right, but probably not the time to see it through!
