....and I am from the most easterly town of the UK (Lowestoft) now living in Bedford.. Lowestoft, there's a name to bring back memories. We had a few holidays there 55 or so years ago.Just remembered it was London Rd, close to the station. Kessington Gardens I think it was, right at the far end where they had motorized boats which you were able to hire. Then I had an elderly aunt/uncle who stayed more central and he would wander down to watch the fishing boats unload. Bedford, one of our favorite towns for a day out. Both accessed from our then home in Northants. Cuba, yes, London Road has a North and South divided by the bridge. Kensington Gardens is still there but the electric boats have long gone (many a happy time spent in those in my young days) and now canoes can be paddled on the boating lake, albeit the twisty passageways have long gone too - just an island remains in the middle. I lived in Northampton from 1967 - 1975 too before moving to Bedford. Have also lived in Broadstairs and Ramsgate - both nice places.

you know what they say, you learn something new every day and the second for today is that the one from Kernow is known on here as Dinky, we're all much to lazy to type his full name I didn't risk typing it in case I spelt it wrong and caused offence, I cut & pasted

I'm from Leicesteribad.........I'm the white fella. Leicester, many many memories of that city. We go back a long way, C&A, Shirley Bassey at De Montfort, Lewis's, with Hotel opposite not shopping centre. Gary Lineker's dad on market stall. I know what you mean about Leicesteribad.
