I've just filled up with unleaded at Asda in Elgin at 124.7 per litre. Certainly a lot cheaper (or less expensive) than it was a couple of years ago.

Same price as Tesco here Alan.I'm due to fill up on Saturday with Diesel(£1.27P) I'm able to get 18p a litre off using Tesco's "fuel save" initiative ! Ergo £1.09 a litre. How long ago was it THAT price eh ?

Many years ago I remember my father in law saying to me - 'Mark my words Alan, we'll soon be paying a pound a gallon'. He wouldn't believe what we're paying now.

It always surprises me that in Ireland, diesel is cheaper than petrol....I assume that its a taxation issue.

It always irks me that beer is dearer than petrol, but that is due to taxation.

It's strange that Berlin,Hamburg,Munich that have many more diesel cars dont have the air quality problems that London has.

It's all just a massive con. My 2007 VW T5 has a diesel particulate filter and manages 38 to the gallon around town, yet it's considered a target because the licence is hiked by £50. At the moment, it can go into the Low Emission Zone, but that won't last. Joke.
