I see there are posts for me to deal with, but need to ask this first please. I have been given the task of finding an inexpensive tablet primarily to be used for google hangouts by a member of my family when his wife is away. His laptop is unreliable and his iphone is all but knackered. He sent me two links for tablets he has seen:- www.ebay.com/itm/390829758879and www.ebay.com/itm/261402088193these are £40 and have a capacitive screen. My bet is that he hasn't spotted that. I don't favour. I am going to suggest that if they can increase their £40 budget to £50, and accept a £20 gift card from me, he will have £70 to consider this:- www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/1629387.htmIt is important that it is reliable for hangouts and cheap enough to set aside when not needed. I would be able to give him an case for an 8" tablet. So, what's your take on this proposal please?.

These tablets probably don't have GPS built in. (The economisation has to kick in somewhere.) The first has appalling screen resolution and the second is only marginally better for those screen sizes. The Argos link returns <not found> As throw away units they'll do, especially the first one if you can believe the claimed battery capacity! They seem legit, but make sure they come from a UK warehouse or you will likely get a nasty surprise courtesy of the Customs and Excise. Ask the sellers to confirm this before pulling the trigger. I'd stick out for a Google Nexus 7, but then I'm biased! Maybe this is of some help?

When you say argos link returns, do you mean you can't get it? if so, try this www.trustedreviews.com/acer-iconia-b1_Tablet_review

My sumvision cyclone voyager two has two cameras. Not the best resolution but they suit me. 10.1 screen and won't break the bank.

I don't know that a camera is a deal breaker, most 'phones have great cameras these days with similar size lenses. Front camera for Skype- OK. Penny wise, poundaft. But you know better than I do their financial position or willingness to splash cash so... Look at this eBay auction number: 221471592596. I'm sure there are more.
