At the risk of being banned (distasteful joke), I'm wondering why this thread is so called. I would not have thought that in 2014 there are many, or indeed any users of dial-up broadband.
What would (IMO) perhaps prove to be more direct, is to replace or introduce a thread with sub-divisions such as :-
PC = which would include all the items used with such ie desk, speakers,printer, mouse,keyboard etc
Laptop
Tablet = android/ipad
Phone = android/iphone
That way, anyone posting a question pertaining to their particular method of accessing the internet, would enter it thus, or am I talking a load of bollocks?

Quite a large number of people still using dial up because broadband is either not available at all or because of distance from the telephone exchange which makes the speed as slow as dial up.

Broadband covers a wide range of variants..Dial Up,ADSL,FTTC,FTTH(or FTTP which ever you want to call it) If you visit a dedicated broadband forum like KItz,then each of these variants will be covered in separate threads. As we here cover all kinds of topics then probably having the one thread about all things broadband will suffice.. forum.kitz.co.uk/index.phpSo Cuba,its very unlikely you will be banned for making such assumptions...You could get banned though for being in the bar with short arms and deep pockets.Now that is a bannable offence..  |

My FIL has just moved over from dial up as BT said they were not supplying it anymore.
