I am new to this site and one thing I do find a little irritating is that in any thread which runs into more than one page the page numbers in that thread are only shown at the top of the page. Why are they not also shown at the bottom of the page so if you wish to go to the next one you don`t have to scroll back to the top to move onto the next, or whichever, page you want to view? Have a look at WU`s forums to see what I mean. Or, am I missing something here?  |

They're at both the top and the bottom in the Android app. I agree that it's unnecessarily frustrating when they only appear at top.
There is another Proboards forum dedicated to admins that covers all manner of ways of tweaking the forum software. You do have to have administrator rights to do anything though, so that rules out the majority of us drinkers.

Next>> Jack, thank you for replying but you missed the point I was making. I know the page numbers are always displayed at the top of the page no matter where one is on a page but asked why they cannot be displayed at the bottom of the page too as other forums do. By clicking on the Pint of ale I appreciate it takes you to the top of the page but then another click is needed to go to the page you want, whereas if the page numbers were also displayed at the bottom one click only would take you to the page you want to go.  |

One click still does take you to the page you want to be on, if the page you want to be on is on that same thread you are using, whether you are at the top of the page or the bottom of the page, it just means moving your cursor up to the top to click the next page you require as it's always in view. as Sim as just said.
Unless I haven't understood it either.

Hmmmm, I'm wondering if when he scrolls down the thread, Roger isn't looking at the bottom of the screen for the page numbers, when actually they stay in the same place wherever you are in the thread!  |

Try pressing ENTER to go to next page or BACKSPACE to go back a page

Hmmmm, I'm wondering if when he scrolls down the thread, Roger isn't looking at the bottom of the screen for the page numbers, when actually they stay in the same place wherever you are in the thread! Ratae, many thanks for that indeed. I hadn`t noticed the wood for the trees owing to the fact the background to the page numbers is in black. Yes, I now see the numbers stay at the top of the page no matter how far down one scrolls. Problem solved and thanks to all who replied.  Apologies to Jack who stated the same but I still didn`t see it then. |
