Odd this thing about CA closing their forum. Can't for the life of me imagine why? and I'll tell you why I think that.
Over on WU, the daily posts were very few. The only way numbers of posts increased, was partially due to one member making a comment after almost every post, which in a way, doubled the daily dose. Now, they're running away with themselves due to those that have migrated from CA.
Daily new people join us in the pub, I've only been here a short time, but in that time it's easy to see an upsurge here too.
So, if those joining here and those joining there (WU) were half as active at CA, why did they close the forum there?.
Surely there must have been sufficient copy to warrant the forum?. Or was it that because the posts were less and less internet related, that the forum failed to fulfill its objective?. My guess is that is was the latter. I note in a post earlier, that someone felt people didn't ask internet related questions, simply because it's sometimes equally as easy to google the question. Of course we all do that at times, but there's nothing quite like having a one-to-one with a fellow member, if only to escape the yankee drawl that is often explaining on youtube.

Just get used to one thing, if I have my history correct, this forum was formed due to peeps getting banned from CA by the PC brigade that infested it. Myself, I banned myself and came over here, I have no regrets about CA folding as they were the masters of their own downfall. This forum does not have the scourge of the PC brigade, that is why I have been happy here for quite a few years.
I came away from CA years ago and looked in when the idiots were turfed out. as it happens with sods law I had just got into the swing of things and after only been there again this year, they pulled the plug. typical
anyway, they seem over the moon to have a new influx added into a sleepy forum
I think it is only a matter of time before the magazine is closed completely, I used to subscribe but got bored with the repetitive content and cancelled. I wasn't banned so can't claim a badge but left after the completely unfair moderation finally got on my nerves. The trolls got away with murder and genuine helpful members were banned. This forum either does not attract trolls at all, or they are summarily executed before they become a pain
Hmn, much as I thought. But then again I have another thought which I'm not too happy about. As I said earlier, Daniel was the editor of WU before CA, I've always thought they were very much the same in content. Both mags are printed by the same printer, how long before we see a merger and they say we have a new improved mag called either:-

good assessment as any, Anne. after 'they' banned so many members, it must have been a shock when they were told to sling their hook
as for the trolls and oddballs, they must be all on the wagon. liquor free trolls?
Don't know if the Landlord (mods) of this pub will allow this, but if you look at the link below (from WU) you will see they are looking for mojo and someone has told 'em where he is. Not only that, it is being suggested that both CA and WU forums are merging nicely. Some might say it makes interesting reading, others not. If you do click the link, you need to click on "todays posts". forum.webuser.co.uk/search.php?searchid=1553594
Personally, I don't give a toss about either of those sites, they stand or fall on their own merits. Both sites are/were formed by a profit motivated organisation, nowt wrong with that of course, but because of that, 'profit' will always be their bottom line.
In the meantime, one of you lot can buy me a drink!
