Hiya, At the moment and for another 10days I have a free FULL version of AVG. I don't know if that's relevant or not ?? All morning I've been getting a warning from them about this .......
Adware Generic_r
AVG detects this highly active Adware and its 294 known variants.
I can allow AVG to get rid of it or I can click on a box for them to allow it. At first I thought it was Ad-aware because I didn't read the warning properly and I have Ad-aware on my PC so I just closed the warning box down. Is it wise to let them get rid of it and, if it's put anything else on my PC will AVG get rid of that as well ? Thanks Glenda

Thanks for your advice cal & Dave,Surprise surprise I already had Malwarebytes on my PC BUT it was way out of date. I let AVG take care of the threat it kept flagging up, then updated Malwarebytes and let it scan. It came up with about 29 ? whatever they were, but it got rid of them . So all's well that ends well eh ! egg

To be perfectly honest Rats I didn't look, I just let Malwarebytes get rid of them. I REALLY ought to pay more attention. AND do more PC housework.
