the subject caused me to leave sky isp because they could not fix so I went to +net but they cant fix either so ISP & router changed still not fixed. A wise friend said maybe its the win firewall stopping LAN connection - so on the dell w7 off with its firewall & it connected LAN OK but the Tosh w7 ditto still wont --- any ideas maybe its ad aware anti malware stopping LAN connection. The sammy smart tv is on wi fi OK as is my wd tv hub & its wi fi lan so its a bad lan tosh = any ideas?

So have I got this right, the dell connects WiFi and cable to your home network and you can access all your accounts.
The Toshiba will connect WiFi but will not connect via a cable and you can access all you accounts except the sky one.
When the Toshiba is connected by WiFi make sure you are using the correct password and username as you do with the dell, passwords are case sensitive and make sure you don't use a number 0 when a letter o is needed.
Have you tried clearing temp files and cookies from the browser you are using.

When you say LAN, do you mean that you cannot connect to the wLan or cannot connect by network cable connection? I'm thinking that you probably mean wifi link to your LAN? (no point in having a lappy that's tethered to a router) On the network at the place where I work, the IT chappie insists on using the windows wireless configuration utility and avoids any bundled in by the manufacturer to go with their wireless network card. Maybe it's worth changing from one to the other? It's pretty likely that you have both. It's certainly worked for me in thd past on my home network. Also, watch out for spaces automatically inserted after you have typed a password. Not so much a problem on PCs, but can be a sodding pain on tablets etc with soft keyboards.

This happens with us sometimes, the android tabbys seem to lose the hub, a reboot of the hub soon sorts it out.

wow many thanks for cunning posts -- lan for me is the wired type wi fi is just that dell is ok for both all my accounts but the tosh falls down on sky email log in & sky home (I still have a sky tv account)& yes usr name & pwd is correct ? is there any way to delete the sky account on the tosh & then reinstall for a fresh start?? I like a wired lan for my lapps because they are in my office upstairs and comfy chair in the lounge Ok for smart sam tv...BTW the TP link mains LAN used to work just fine but same time the sky lan link fell down (dell was ok only after taking out the win firewall...) = maybe its because I have so many mains ext leads each with a spike suppressor on ? 5+ & I only use the tp link units on the raw mains sockets ...I also have a BT fon router on my tp link switch working OK - up stairs is on a 20 M lan cable connected direct from the +net router on the main house BT socket... I feel dizzy after reading all that but - thats the way things are...

But if they work WiFi why not leave it that way and don't run cables all over the house, simples,

Agree 90% why not leave nearly well alone - but like to fix things - niggles the tosh lan isnt working - must be a fix apart from clean install? eg now aware of a ? ms sys file corrupted on my mini dell 9 xp sp3 with a file ? corrupted found by avg but its too big (&? too important ) to delete says avg but it still works ok note hdd is a ssd 16gb changed by me last year I like the tiny dell & its a cult pc now....but it works on my lan & wi fi ok...mysterious....

Here's a wide shot. You could try reducing the MTU setting. You need to ping the router (192.168.1.1 or whatever it is) and keep reducing the MTU setting and issueing a ping command until you fail to get a response. Then you go back up with the MTU setting and make it permanent. You will have to Google the whole procedure- it's too complex to describe here. I had trouble with Nationwide banking over this. I had to reduce the MTU setting to 1400 to get it to work. Normally it's around 1480- ish. This is machine dependent. I take it from what you've written that your network card works. Try removing it in device manager, then rebooting and entering your settings all over again.
