Via planefinder.net/ and zooming in, you are able to identify aircraft flying overhead where you live (if that's what floats your boat). Clicking on individual aircraft shows a wealth of info.
On that page, at the top right is "apps", scroll down to "Ship finder" and all ships are shown. Again, rt clicking brings up info. and both show the route.

Craig, you look at mine and I'll look at yours and we can compare which is the better (ha ha ha ha)
I will wait for you to concede and I'll tell you why. Whilst they both give identical info ref aircraft, the fact that mine switches to ships at the swiftness of a click, surely mine wins simply for that?

That's another interesting site Cuba I like the ship finder app, watching the vessels in the Irish sea. I've been tracking one called 'Darling.' A pleasure craft by all accounts.

Glad you like this one too Arch. I will be off line after dinner (roast lamb smells heaven) as we're meeting up with friends for a stroll along the prom, visit a fete etc, but will resume later. I have to say, I really do like this site.

Hi Cuba
I've downloaded the Shipfinder onto my iPad and across the top of the screen is an advert for Parcel Force is there any way of getting rid of this advert as there doesn't seem to be.

Portland at a guess, with an Echo ID of Islandman! Mr. That's not correct, but warm. I invented that name years ago because each year, we would fly out to (helicopter) from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly for our annual holidays. I first went there as a single man, then again when married, then we took our children and our son went there for his honeymoon and we returned for our Silver Wedding Anniversary and our Ruby Anniversary (40th). Many happy memories of the place and tales we could tell. Met Harold & Mary Wilson whilst out walking, one year we stayed next door to them, managed to get on a BBC TV holiday program, chatted to Richard Branson there, looked out of the Prince of Wales's bedroom window and so it could go on. jj, I will try to resolve this for you. PS, jj. I am going to suggest you open the planefinder page first. Along the top is "apps" and "explore", clicking explore will present a drop-down box and the option to join "forum". The forum option isn't on shipfinder, but they connected.Maybe someone with an ipad will be able to show you. As I haven't an ipad, I am restricted. Not trying to pass you over, it's just that I can't experiment for you, sorry. or this my.pinkfroot.com/
